Title: disconnecting
Post by: Psychadelic Yodeller on March 02, 2004, 02:21:47 AM
I found where I can connect to the internet - Ie, how I can make SME dial my ISP. How do I make SME hang up though?

It times out automatically after inactivity from your system. The timeouts are preset in the Long, Medium or Short setting you chose when you ran the Configuration screens. Pretty sure it covers this in the Manual.

To change these times look at the templates in
/etc/e-smith/templates/etc/diald.filter
You should create custom templates though if you want to change the standard values, search here on diald.filter and go back to early 2002.

Alternatively at the command prompt you could do
service diald restart
(the use of service command is not recommended by Mitel)
This should kill the connection, but any requests on your network will cause the server to dial up again.

Alternatively there is a purchasable contrib at dungog.net to control the modem connection, and also manually activate and deactivate it.
