I am setting up a virtual domain for a friend on my server and he would like to set up email for his family using his domain how can this be accomplished so that they can use the webmail to check thier mail and still have person@hisvirtualdomain.com and not person@mydomain.com
-
I assume you are talking about webmail.
You will need to go to
Options > personal information > edit default profile
Then enter user@hisdomain.com for sender email.
You will need to do it for each user

or simply just install this contribution which allows you to configure via server-manager

Is there any way that I can, for example, have sales@primarydomain.com and sales@virtualdomain.com and have them be separate addresses?

No, the server does not distinguish between user@abc.com and user@def.com. It uses aliases and user is the same no matter what domain it is attached to. The person can receive mail as both user@abc.com or user@def.com.
Hope this helps.

Where is commercial add-on for virtual e-mail domains that does just what you need. You can buy it from dungog.net

.. cc_skavenger is mistaken tho it takes a bit of messing around to get what you want.
Say we have two domains dog & cat:
a) setup user accounts salesdog & salescat
b) setup pseudonymns of sales@dog.com mapped to salesdogs account, etc
c) collect salesdog, salescat email
Done this myself and it works fine tho teious if there are lots of domains.

How you create pseudonymns "sales@dog.com" ? Sistem not allow me to create pseudonymns with @ symbols.
-
Yes my system will not allow me to use the @ symbol either.
Back to the drawing board.
-
What must be done that the system allow to use the @ symbol either?
Tnx for answer.

Go out to:
http://www.dungog.net/sme/products.php
And purchase his "Virtual domains" RPM. very good and easy to install. Just 33.00 US and well worth it if you need this type of product.
