I am trying to get VPN to work on SME-Server 6.0 Final
I have enabled pptp access for a user and added 1 connected via the web manager.
when I VPN to the box it goes through, verifies password and starts logging onto the network.
Then it gives me
error 743: the PPP link protocol was terminated.
I can't for the life of me figure out why?
Any help would be most appreciated.

I don't know what the problem is, but you might try setting the server to allow 5 sessions.
I don't remember where, but I recall reading that PPTP sessions took up more than 1 connection each...
Let us know if you get the problem solved.

Yeah I will try that.
I am trying to connect from a Win2K box that doesn't have any service packs installed. Or didn't when I was there anyway. So I have SP4 and will try with that to.
I also added another 4 to make it 5 connections as well.
Will let you know what happens.
I can get it connected from within the network from my XP Pro box (that has all the updates installed) fine, so I am leaning to it being the Win2K box more so than anything else.
I seem to remember something about PPTP and SP's for Win2K.
anyway will let you know.

Yeah got it runnin.
Installed Service Pack 4 on Win 2K and away it went.
Set the pptp access back to 1 and it still connected easy. So there ya go.
