Title: Standard mailserver and external pop3
Post by: moenster on March 04, 2004, 10:09:05 AM
Hi

I'm using my SME 5.6 U6 as mailserver in standard mode. Additionally I want to be able to get mails from an external pop3-server and have them delivered into a user mailbox on the server.

I have seen http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/index.html?frame=http%3A//sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/howtos/howto_9.htm and http://www.dungog.net/sme/files/emailfiltering/ but I'm a little confused about what to do. :-?

What happens if I change the e-mail mode to multidrop? Will I loose the use of my current mail setup with local user accounts and mailboxes?

Can someone please give me some advice? :-o

Regards Henrik

I've not tried it, but I think you should leave the server as it is, and use Dungog Multipop to download the external accounts.

I use multidrop with 6.0 and that works perfect.
IMAP folders for local adresses still work.
