Title: Problems Chaging IP Address for WWW
Post by: Casey Moon-Watton on July 31, 2001, 02:57:00 PM
Hi,

I have tried to change the IP address of the www hostname entry so that it points to my ISP's account management server (I use Telstra ADSL which only references its account management website with http://www/bla/bla/bla).

I was able to view my ISP's account management website fine when I did this.. only from my interneal network I could no longer go to http:\partyhouse.dyndns.org\ and I'm not sure why?  Does any one have any ideas? Do I have to go and create a custom the httpd.conf template (I noticed there were some refences to www in there)?

Cheers,

Casey.

I had the same problem.  I ended up cheating and calling the internal network
internal.domainname.com and adding a virtual domain entry for my real domain.

Hope it helps.
