Hi!
I have just instaled SME 6.0 on a new machine, and i can't get in th the user-manager forn outside the local network :-(
What do i need to insert in the server-manager's "remote access" section, to allowe EVERY IP in the world access to the user-manager
And finaly can i alowe access to the server-manager section to a range of ip's -
- i have at home dynamic ip, but it starts every time i conects to the net with 62.243.x.x only the x.x are changed.... so i want to allowe access from 62.243.x.x to the server-manager
I have tryed to write 62.243.0.0 in the remote manager pannel, with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 but no luck
If i remember correctly i did this on SME 5.6 and it worked fine there.... has some security setting changed form 5.6 - 6.0 ?

If only _you_ need access to the server manger, tunnel in from outside your network and then use your server's local IP address.
ie:
1) From an XP box at home: VPN to Work Server. have an IP of 192.168.2.1 for example
2) From an XP box at home: https://192.168.1.1/server-manager (just use your server’s LOCAL ip)
or
1) From an XP box at work, add a low subnet mask in the server-manager, ie 255.0.0.0. Keep in mind the security risks!!! Choose the highest value subnet that you need, by finding out what IP range your ISP will dynamically assign you.
2) Access https://your.domain.com/server-manager

Okay, but what about user-manager.....
I will allow users to change their setting's from user-manager
i have now 50 user's on the system, but in about 1 month from now i wil get around 325+ users....
I dont want to change their password, vecation messag etc. when is't possible to allowe them self to do it.....
What if i set ip to 0.0.0.0 and subnet mask to 0.0.0.0 what wil happen then ?
(tryed it earlyer, but i had no luck getting in this way....)

Hi
I know this is an old post. But right now i got the same problems...
I cant find a way to acces my user-manager from outside my network.
And if i wanna acces server-manager from a random IP i have to allow all IP's???
Does anyone know what that range is?
thx in advance
