Hi
I have started to get a lot of problems with our email on sme 6.0. Basically it started with fetchmail errors but now we are getting bombarded with emails that we have already recieved and deleted. I check emails in the morning and I can have over 100 but they are the same batch repeated over & over. I was thinking about re-installing my sme server because I have limited knowledge of where to look. But before I go down this route is there anything I can try.

The best thing to try is to download your email using using Fetchmail - i.e, when it is scheduled to be next downloaded, then try connecting to the ISP pop3 server using a standard pop client to see what messages you have there. The fact you are getting duplicate messages between downloads suggests that the messages are not being deleted from the pop server.

Everything seems weird. I have had a look at our mail on the isp server. I can see some of the messages that keep getting delivered just sitting there still & not getting deleted by sme when it collects them which explains why we are getting lots of duplicated mails. But I have no idea why they are not getting deleted. also there is mail at the isp which is not getting picked up by the sme server although it is marked as read but not deleted.
It seems my mail system has gone mad, but I have no idea hoe to put it right. :-(

I had similar problems in the past when using the leave mail on server (sme 5.6) in outlook express

I am still struggling with my email. I seemed to sort things out just by re-setting everything on the fetchmail settings. But I am still getting emails that are just sitting on my isp's server & not being downloaded from the server.
Can anyone suggest anything.
