Another newbie question. I am new to the list and if this was asked and answered before my apologies. Problem: With a machine on the local network I can use IE 5 to pull up the e-smith-manager program but when it comes up, there are no links on the side to configure it????? What am I doing wrong here?

www/e-smith-manager
slap it in the address bar and it should work, at least it might work for you... good luck! I never had any trouble with it (and I have had trouble with everything else) good luck!

Did you login to the manager as user admin or user root? If you logged in as root, you won't get the links on the left hand side of the manager.

Err... On my 4.1.2 box, I can't login as root to the manager. I'm not sure about other versions though.
If you need to make some configuration changes, you could ssh to your server and login as admin to use the text mode browser.

BINGO! that was it. I was logging on as root. Thanks for solving my problem.
