Title: Fronline for MS Exchange - Part 2
Post by: kmccarn on March 26, 2004, 04:05:12 PM
OK - I have a workable system now - many thanks to all.

The only thing that still bugs my clients is that they don't want to see any spam.

I have looked and can't find a global filter solution for the Exchange box. (that doesn't cost $$$)

So - I'm still looking for a sme solution.

A friend of mine uses maildrop to filter the spam before passing it to his exchange - but he says it's overkill.

Has anyone set up maildrop on an sme system - and if so, how hard is it ??

For anyone interested....

I deployed my first major server last night - got home at 5:30am.

Had to rebuild twice - once because when I added the dungog AV - the load on the server climbed to about 23.85 - then I couldn't shut off the amavis and still have the spamassassin work. (I'm getting better hardware for the next go-round)

The second time was due to a corrupt backup from the first install. (verify the backup file)

Working fine for the last 8 hours - load runs around 0.25 - processing around 700 messages per hour with an average of 33% being spam.
