Title: dyndns and 6.0.1-0.1 custom
Post by: retrograham on March 29, 2004, 02:15:37 AM
Can someone please direct me where I can find how often 6.0.1-0.1 updates a dyndns.org account and where the config files are that control it?

I am taking it that you are using a dial up connection. If this is the case then it is updated whenever you connect to the internet.

If you are using a fixed I.P. you can set this in your account at dyndns.

I have a cable modem (comcast) so my ip hardly does change but it does change sometimes (power outages, comcast stupidity, etc...). I was just wondering if there is a script that checks the external ip and if it has changed report it to dyndns.org. My system is usally connect 24/7 and dyndns.org will cancel your account if it is not updated in 35 days.

After getting locked out of dyndns for too frequent updates, i changed my conf to use the eth1 interface, which is the route to the adsl modem. Now it updates dyndns.org whenever the ISP assigned Ip address is changed.
