You need the commercial version of the sme server to benefit from these facilities.   The unsupported (and free) version dealt with in this forum  cannot do this - you will need to arrange for DNS to be publish some other ways, check your ISP or search in this forum.  Good luck.

Hello

You don't need the service link running
you need a

domain name
dns service - you can use free dns service like zoneedit or dyndns

the server will automaticly steup ftp.yourdomain.com
when you go through the server setup screens
it also sets up mail and other hostnames

you need to go into server-manager and enable ftp access in the remote access screen

when your domain name is active you can just go to
ftp://ftp.your-domain.com or for inside your network

you can just use

ftp://the-server-ip  ie: ftp://192.168.1.100

hope this helps
