Title: Remote access to user-manager
Post by: lajgaard on March 30, 2004, 03:15:10 PM
I have tried following Dungog's remote access howto found here: http://www.dungog.net/sme/files/userpanel/remote%20access%20to%20user%20manger.doc

But somehow I get stuck. I am running a SME 6.0 server with the user-panel and usershellaccess contribs.

This is what works:
I can connect to the server ekternally through putty and winscp. I can also connect to the user-manager if I am on the internal network.

This does not work:
If I use the above mentioned howto I cannot get past the putty access. That means that somehow the http trafic to and from the server does not user the tunnel, which results in failed attemts to access the user-manager.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance
Carsten

Make sure you entered the ip subnet in the remote access panel in the server manager.  Also, make sure you are trying to access the user-manager as well as the server manager through https when outside the network:
https://yourserver.com/server-manager
https://yourserver.com/user-manager
