Title: Advice on creating an interactive calender
Post by: profplus on April 03, 2004, 06:37:25 PM
I want ot be able to create a calendar and have people log into the server to change it (mitel 6.0)

It will be an availability checker for holiday bookings, so if 1st to 7th April is booked , the user can log in and block out those dates etc.

Are there any programmes out there that will do this? Is my server compatible with what I want to accomplish?

I have heard people talking of Mysql but this is alien to me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, but no free holiday Im afraid!

Look around for e.g. phpgroupware, MRBS and other Groupware products.

One that works very nicely if you don't mind paying for a commercial software is Calcium. Its available from http://www.brownbearsoftware.com. There is a free single calendar version and some other pay for options. They also have some very nice palm sync software and other goodies that will work with E-Smith. I have set it up on version 6.0 and it worked fine.

Thanks to all who have replied,

I have found various php programms but do not know how to edit the scripts or instal it on my server.

Any ideas? What program do I use to open php documents?

Go get WinSCP at http://winscp.sourceforge.net/eng/

You can use it to edit most of the files on your server from you workstation.

If logged on to the server, you can use Midnight Commander or pico or vim.
