What's the test page you're trying to print from your FC1 box?
Concerning your XP printing problems, are you sure you're not trying to use a raster printer driver to print to a filtering CUPS queue?

dont you need TCP/IP running on the XP to make this work?
at least that's how I set it up and I gotta say CUPS ROCKS!
