Dear all
I have been looking for a ticket system for a while, we have about 4 SME servers (SME 5.6(U5)) here and we have been blissfully happy with it and the forum of old and of new. (Wel done new forum Administrators)
I have been trying to get this Zentrack working on sme but the little sod just keeps giving me errors?
I am just wondering has anyone used this product or has used something simular that could be used on our sme server.

This is the link have a play if you seems ok to me?
Can anyone help Thanks.

I haven't tried it but I took a quick look at theit documentation. There are couple of things that might cause trouble.
Do the following at your own risk!!!
Zentrack requires
- GD >= 2.0 (SMEserver gd-1.8.4-4.i386.rpm)
try upgrading your gd
(I use a few Custom RPMS from http://norlug.org/~chipster/rpm_index.pxml?cat=1 )and he has gd-2.0.22-1.norlug.i386.rpm
- PHP >= 4.3 (SMEserver php-4.1.2) you need Pear support so you will have to upgrade PHP. Try upgrading you PHP RPMS (latest v4.3.5)
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/e-smith/contrib/DanBrown/RPMS/i386/?M=D
If you've already upgraded both gd & php, well in that case you would have to be more specific about what happens when you tried to install...
Good luck...

Does anyone have a helpdesk ticket system which will work on on SME.
I have sourced one but having all kinds of problems.
I am wondering if the more wise and experienced of the Linux community might be able to point me in the right direction.
Again thank you for all your help

This is the best one I've seen http://helpdesk.oneorzero.com/

Also check http://www.osticket.com/
OSTicket works on SME Server and users can submit tickets using email. I don't care for helpdesk programs that require users to create login id's before being allowed to submit tickets. The last thing I need is another user database to maintain.
A long time ago Rich Lafferty had a howto/contrib for RT (Request Tracker) on e-smith. Later Abe Loveless updated it for SME v5.1.2. Check http://www.tech-geeks.org/contrib/loveless/beta/rt/ and also http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/e-smith/contrib/RichLafferty/rt/
If anybody decides to try RT please take notes and post. Thanks

Have you a how to for setting this up on 6.x?
Would like to have alook at it but I do not want to mess up my server.
Thanks,
Dan
