Title: POP3 Email problems
Post by: stocky on April 06, 2004, 07:56:45 AM
Our email system is working fine internally, and we can receive and send email externally (to the web) from the SME6 box, but we cannot access the POP3 mailboxes from the internet. Webmail works and the POP3 is set to allow access from the internet but we get a "the connection was interrupted" type message from outlook when trying to to check mail from outside the network (eg home) I have ports 25 & 110 allowed forwarded in the router and the server is running in server only mode. Any ideas? :hammer:

Your best solution is probably to get rid of the router, and use the server in server/gateway mode. Much more reliable, and easier to troubleshoot that way.

Thats a bit of a cop-out though, I have the same problem but with a router in bridging mode, the server has its own external ip address.

Anyone else?
