I recently reinstalled SME 6.0 on my firewall/server. Prior to this I was running 5.5 which I could literally leave up and running without giving it a second thought. The new 6.0 has now crashed 4 times on me, anywhere between 6-14 days uptime. I've glanced through the logs and nothing is jumping out at me. Does anybody know if 6.0 has some stability issues?
Will upgrading to the latest contribs 6.0.1 help?
Thanks!

Can you share how you upgrade your sme from 5.5 to 6.0.
If you did a search, many would advise to upgrade from 5.5 to 5.6 then 6.0.

If you have certain contribs installed or certain settings the upgrade can be problematic from 5.5 to 6.0. For a standard instal the upgrade should be OK.
I found that the upgrade from 5.5 to 5.6 required more RAM (128 to 256Mb) and then the upgrade from 5.6 to 6.0 required more RAM (256 to 384Mb) and I would say that the server is only just running stable. More RAM would be better.
sme v5.6 was more critical of RAM problems, you can run the memtest from Charlie Bradys contrib, search devinfo for how to use it. I assume v6.0 is also relying on RAM without problems and plenty of it.
Add more RAM and see how you go. If that is not the issue check your hardware compatibility at Red Hat site.

Sorry to have not been a little more clear. I did not do an upgrade to 6.0. I simply did a re-install blowing away the old setup. Same box though (Celeron 1000, 256MB RAM, 40GB HD). I'll try the memtest...
Thanks!

I know this is not realy on the subject but my SME 6.0B3 is running on a P1 233Mhz, 80MB Ram, 14GB HD. And it´s running with out any problem, as far as I know.
I use it as a Firewall, web, ftp and file server for my home network. So its not realy that much traffic, max 3 users at a time.
The only extra I have on it is phpBB, PHPmyAdmin and LFconnect.
So back to the question what is the minimum Hardware specs needed for SME v6?
