Title: Cannot access server-manager! PLEASE HELP!!
Post by: Anonymous on April 08, 2004, 10:06:27 AM
Running SME Server 5.6 unsopported developer release.

This morning I received alot of mails from the cron deamon, saying that my Apache didn't run. So I did a service httpd restart.

Now I cannot access the server manager. I get a page saying:

Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /e-smith-manager.

Reason: Could not connect to remote machine: Connection refused

What on earth is this? I'm not using any proxy.

Please help - I'm confused!

P.S. My web-server IS running fine...

Thanks!

Thanks!

Well I ended up with that solution too. But it was quite sad, as the server had been running without any problems for 289 days... It's runing on an old Digital laptop with 112 Mb RAM and have even survived staying in loads of dust during rebuilding the room it sits in.

The next time, the quicker solution will be to also restart service httpd-admin...
