Hi,
Fresh build of SME Server 6.0.1-01.
On the same hardware that was running 5.5.
All e-mail being sent regardless of client is slow (15 seconds) after you press send.
Outlook Express / Webmail / Twiggi etc all exhibit same behaviour.
Does not change when disabling antivirus etc.
Everything else is very quick, browsing mail folders, surfing etc.
Any one else have this and discover a resolution?

"regardless of client"; well, what clients have you tried? What OS is the machine on which the client(s) is(are) running? Have you tried sending email from more than one workstation?

There are 26 computers here all win2000, WinXP Pro.
We use Twiggi as our main mail program on every one of these PC's. This is exactly what we were using before on 5.5.
Again, we have tested this on all of the workstations, using Twiggi, the built in Webmail, and Outlook express. The results are the same on all.

I've noticed this with Outlook 2000 on WinXP.
When the server was 5.6U6 the sending was near instant. With 6.01-01 there is a noticable delay while the email sits in the outbox while Outlook negotiates with the server.

On a 6.0.1-01. machine with Outlook/Pegasus/Thunderbird Winxp/2000 clients the delays occurred after i switched to the securemail contrib. Before that: fine.

Recently I resolved two issues with SME 6 on e-mail performance related issues. May not be related.
1. The DNS during setup was not filled in and this caused some delay.
2. One of the machine running Outlook 2002 (XP) experience send delay. This was resolve after upgrading to latest service pack (SP3 I think). This only happens with secure mail (ie SSL).
