Take a look at Darrell's how-to.
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/smeserver/contribs/dmay/mitel/howto/website-access-security-howto.html
Apache and htaccess hasn't change much and this document is still helpfull.

I installed the contrib from nightspirit.  I noticed in the 90e-smithAccess10primary file, the file locations are pointing to pre 6.0 directories.  /home/e-smith/files/primary/html
So, I manually changed them to
/home/e-smith/files/ibays/Primary/html.  Don't know if it's really needed, but I did it to stay consistent.  Then did an expand-template /etc/htttpd/conf/httpd.conf, then start and stop of httpd and httpd-admin.

YMMV,
