Title: Mail Log File: Sender ... need explanation
Post by: Reinhold on April 20, 2004, 03:06:58 PM
All of a sudden emails from our home-domain are rejected by a certain provider... who after contact flatly refuses to accept mail from "dial in IPs"...
NOW - while looking for problems I found mail log data for our site that I would like an explanation for:

WHO CAN KINDLY EXPLAIN THOSE THREE ENTRIES FORM THE MAIL LOG: SENDER...
========================================================
mess     bytes    sbytes    rbytes  recips  tries       xdelay  sender
 226    670304    670304    670304     226    226    43.376796  0/<anonymous@domainname>
...does this mean 226 anonymous messages sent from the server ??? How ???

  26   6011703   6011703   6011703      26     26   118.886243  406/<>
...hmmh user 406 (?) sent 26 mails in total 6 Megabytes ???

 395   1506858   1506858   1506858     395    395    36.443400  401/<devinfo-bounces@lists.contribs.org>
... quite a few devinfo-bounces ... am I bothering the list ??? Who is this? User 401 ???

Thanks for any explanation ... or a lead where sender log explanations may be found
