hi.
i just installed esmith to be a dhcp/gateway/firewall/email server here at home.
can someone point me to a good place (on-line or a book) to find out what i need to do to go thru the esmith server from my desktop box(es)? and to be able to browse the esmith drive as well. i've been looking around (linuxdoc.org amung others), but can't seem to find what i need.
i know about setting up ipaddress, gateway, netmask, etc, but for some reason i can't even ping my esmith box from my box (i'm going directly thru the dsl modem right now). and yes, i do have a cross-over cable between the boxes.
any help'll be appreciated. i'm runing mandrake8.0, kde2.1.2.
thanks,
john

Hi John
You will have to edit your fstab in mandrake
/etc/fstab
with
192.168.0.1 or what ever
192.168.0.1:/home/network /mnt/network nfs rw,hard,intr 0 0
you can also us linneighbourhood that comes with mandrake
Ps e-smith doe's not use NFS so try mounting it via linneighbourhood
