Title: VPN Connectivity probs - What SME Log file should I check?
Post by: Flip on April 23, 2004, 07:33:40 PM
Hello All,

I'm having trouble accessing my SME 6.0.1-01 server via VPN.  I checked the forums for client configuration and have done everything said.  When I try logon from another site I get to the point where it says "Verifying Username and Password" and thats where it stays for approximately two minutes and then fails.  Has anybody seen this problem before?  If not can anybody recommend a good software tool to look at the TCP/IP packets to help me troubleshoot the problem.  Maybe SME has a log file that I can look at for more information but I'm not sure which file to check.

My configuration is SME in server/gateway mode connected directly to a cable modem.  The site I'm using to test VPN connectivity is using MS Proxy 2.0.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Flip

Does it work if you try it on a local machine?

If so, all setup is ok...

Yes,

It works great on the local network.  Just on the WAN side is were it fails.
