Title: Hardware Discovery

I wanted to know is there any thing special I need to do to get my SME box to see the new scsi card and drive I installed in my machine. The card is an Adaptec scsi card. And the tape drive is an Exabyte drive. This drive works with another SME box I have so I know it can use the drive.

But I am not seeing that my SMB box is seeing the new card. Is there a command I can run to 1. see the hardware list and to 2. Get it to find or try to find the card and drive.

What is the model of the scsi card? I've created a new boot.img file that supports most Adaptec U320 scsi adapters. Here's the link here http://www.comnetel.com/bootdisk.htm Give me a yell if you need a hand with it. The link to the boot.img is right at the bottom of the page.

Looks like my adapter is an AHA-2940AU :-(   Don't know if you have ever worked with one of those?

Ty,
To find out if the drivers have loaded for your scsi adapter type "lsmod |more" at the command prompt and look for something similar to aic7xx or aic79xx, if you can see this your scsi card and tape drive should be working OK. Then just go into the server-manager and enable tape backups.
