Title: Weekly log shows error with dyndns on 6.01-01
Post by: Dave on May 02, 2004, 04:27:24 AM
Cron <root@SERVER_NAME> run-parts /etc/cron.weekly

/etc/cron.weekly/refresh-ddns:

Connection timed out at /sbin/e-smith/dynamic-dns/dyndns line 56.

I use the commercial service and the built in client seems to be working as it should, although I'm not 100% sure as I haven't had an IP change for a couple of months. The box was a 5.6U4 system with the simple 'custom' alteration to the dyndns script. It was then changed to 6.01-01 and I selected the commercial service from the options on install. IP before and after the change was the same so that's why I'm not sure if the current 6.01-01 client is functioning correctly.

Is anyone else seeing this error?

Not me. I use the free dyndns.org since 5.5 (now 6.01-01) and have never had a problem.

If you care to notice I use the commercial service. That means it isn't free. That means this problem isn't applicable to you.

Yes I can read.  You sounded so pathetic with your second post, I thought you'd appreciate a response. Drive carefully.
