Title: Installation Problem
Post by: JonA on May 06, 2004, 09:08:05 PM
I am attempting to install on a dell optiplex Gx1, the CD happly boots and then asks for language etc and comes to a halt stating that 'The SME server Disk was Not found in any of your CD rom drives' 'Please inert the SME server disk and try again' I downloaded the iso image and burnt it to CD OK, which is the one I booted off, what have I done wrong now?

Betcha you have either a dud burned CD or a bad CD-ROM.  The first is cheaper to fix ...

I hope it will fix the problem :)

DELLs by default ship with HD and CDROM set in "cable select" position instead of master/slave. Sometimes you have to change settings before linux detect it correctly.

Cheers Jon.
