Hi I was wondering if anyone could help ?
I have a small home LAN and have recently installed e-Smith for
mail and HTPP proxy. Its working great in general but my only
difficulty is in accessing my internet banking site.
ie It wont let me in !
Does anyone know what the problem could be and maybe a workaround ?
Thanks !

What internet banking site are you trying to access?
I had numerous problems trying to access my ABN AMRO account using their PC banking package, and it turned out to be because they used non standard FTP ports, which required modify the "ip_masq_ftp" command in /etc/rc.d/init.d/masq to:
/sbin/modprobe ip_masq_ftp ports=21,42,63
I also know of someone else having problems (can't remember the banking site) who added the banks IP address to his list of known local networks, not sure how secure this makes his ESSG box though, but he got it working.

Thanks for the reply Peter / Rob @ North West Linux
http://www.nwlinux.uklinux.net/
Actually I discovered my mistake soon after posting.
In Internet Exploiter LAN Settings I had only chosen
my e-SMith server IP for HTTP proxying. Underneath
that is an Option that says Secure' As soon as I filled
in the details there, BINGO !
As a side, I wondered if I can still FTP my web site from
my client PC and tried this out. WSFTPPRo says
Cant connect' although I can use IE FTP . . .
. . . . obviously you know my next question !!!
Many Thanks !
