I tried to backup to the desktop and forgot the golder 2GB rule.
I have about 6GB of data and now it says that my server drive is full.
Does anyone have an idea where the temporary backup files are stored?
Thanks

What do you mean by temporary backup file, perhaps the cached data in memory ?
The actual backup file is on the workstation where you saved it.

You cannot restore a backup file that is larger than 2Gb using the restore from desktop function. The issue has been covered extensively in these forums.

I thought being a 'GOLDEN RULE' it might have been, but when I do a search (on the left) for backup, I only get about 4 messages?
Am I searching the wrong place? Is there an archive of messages somewhere?
Thx,
Phil

Hi,

You cannot restore a backup file that is larger than 2Gb using the restore from desktop function.
If you only need to get to the data that's in the backup, you could try using a Windows based Zip program to open the desktop backup file and extract the files you require.
