Title: SME server compatibility with MS Outlook ???
Post by: Paul Archer on May 09, 2004, 11:57:48 AM
Does anyone know if it is possible (with SME server)to recreate the calendar and folder sharing capabilities that you get with outlook in an exchange server environment ? I am so sick of repairing and rebuilding my exchange server every time some minor error occurs that i would really like to find an alternative that can give users the ability to share mail and calendar and public folders.

Hi Paul - there are lots of solutions, search the forums for shared & outlook.
You might like to check out http://www.bynari.net/index.php?id=7 which is a commercial solution.

Paul,
Take a look at this.

I found it when I did a search for exchange server. Have not tried it, but looks interesting

Using the Contrib link posted here for you by Crazybob works great with the Toltec Connector (Which is $14 a seat for the first 500 users)

I have tested it over a 2 month period with 50 users and it works great as long as you can afford the cost of the connector software. (I was testing it for a company which bought the licenses)
