Title: CDRom Won't mount on 6.01
Post by: satovey on May 14, 2004, 06:14:31 AM
Hi,

Could someone who has their cdrom mounting
post a copy of the lines refering to the
cdrom in their fstab and mtab files files.

When ever I fun the mount cdrom command, I
get the error message: mount can't find cdrom
in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab.

My /etc/fstab file has the following line;

/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom     iso9660 noauto,owner.ro 0 0

I added the follwoing line in the mtab:

/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom.

Obviousely these are wrong as the cdrom will
not mount. /dev/cdrom is pointing to /dev/hdc

The cdrom is connected to hdc so that is not
the problem. Plus, when this machine was a
5.6, I was able to get the cd to automount
using autofs. With 6.01 however, it's not
working. So a working sample will aid me
in figuring this problem out.
