Title: I cant chmod a file from my ftp client?

Hi - I have DL and installed SME 6.0 and it is up and running fine. I am going to use it as a testserver for making postnuke sites.

I upload PN726 til my primary ibay and then I try to chmod 666 my config.php file. I tells me that either til file or the directory does not exist or that I dont have the right permission. I am logged om as admin and the file exist.

I could logom as root, but I dont know if it will help or where the path to the primary ibay is, so I could find my file.

The question is, is this problem due to the admin account, to the ibay ( if so where should I put my files ) or should I make a public directory to put my files in?

Use midnight commander (mc at a command line - putty from remote) to look at the file/directory structure. Sounds like you don't have correct permissions. You can view and change these from within mc as well.
Your admin subdir is /home/e-smith/files/users/admin/home
and Primary is /home/e-smith/files/ibays/Primary/files

Hi,
I don't think you are allowed to do this to the primary ibay, not by default anyway. Someone here mY know how to set it to allow it but I just use winscp and ssh to do it. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the path. I will try MC also. It sounds easyer, because my needs for remote access.
