Title: SME as database for user authentication
Post by: rgillies on May 27, 2004, 12:56:37 AM
Hi

I have been using SME/E-smith for the last few years as a web and email server for the library I manage. I now have the challenge of needing a way to authenticate 12,000 or so library users (using a library card number and password pair) so that they can use certain services in the library.

Ideally I would use a global LDAP directory that would store the basic info with MySQL as a back end.

Anyone tried this before?

Thanks

Ron Gillies

Sounds like the same sort of idea i was talking about in this thread:

I may have found a solution with a script i found on zend.com.  Check out the above thread.
