Title: qmail mail relay from hotmail
Post by: Wildpuss on August 27, 2001, 06:11:02 PM
I've played with Linux for a few years, and I love e-smith. I haven't configured an email server before, and was wondering if you can set it up to fetch mail from a http mail server such as Hotmail?

I won't need detailed instructions at this point - just wondered if it can be done.

I don't think Hotmail allows for POP3 retrieval anymore, but e-smith is quite capable of retrieving email from your ISP's POP3 or IMAP mail server.

FYI - Yahoo does allow POP3 pickup, will pickup POP3 mail from other accounts, and will also forward mail from your Yahoo account to another account.

Ah Scot, thats perfect! I needed an excuse to switch accounts as I'm getting too much spam by now anyway!

Many thanks. :)
