After doing several upgrades to my SME server 6.01.01, I did a post-upgrade and reboot. Now I receive this message when the machine is booted:
/etc/rc7.d/S40hdparm: Couldn't find/execute init script /etc/rc.d/init.d/hdparm
And it's true, there is no init script called /etc/rc.d/init.d/hdparm
Should there be one?
Sooo good to have this forum back on-line,

Neither of these files exist on my fully patched/updated SME6 box.
My guess is you have loaded an rpm that was for V5.5 and the file layout is different in V6

The problem might be my installation of e-smith-base-4.15.1-02.noarch.rpm, as it contains new versions of /etc/rc7.d (which on my machine is a link to /etc/rc.d/rc7.d), /etc/rc.d/rc7.d/ and various files in this directory. But I would suppose this version to be conformant with SME v. 6.01?

Hi,
Dunno if this can be of any help, but on my system
(SME 6.0 upgraded to SME 6.0.1), my e-smith-base release is e-smith-base-4.14.1-16
So yes, your release, (witch seems to be newer) should be compatible.
But querying the filelist, I don't see anythings speaking about hdparm.
