Greeings,
I am a newbie to SME server. I had a 5.6 running flawlessly for a year and decided to upgrade to 6.0beta 3. Post upgrade all domains ended up displaying the same home page. Thought it was an upgrade error so I wiped and rebuilt the server from scratch. Manually uploaded files and created the virtual domains and experienced the same problem. Can anyone shed some light on this wierdness? Perhaps I didn't do something in a specific order? Please advise. I have 3 domains down.
Regards,
Maximus

Could use a few more details as to what you have done so far, But first thought is to make shure that the index.html file is not the one from the install.

What I have done so far:
After a full disk format and re-installation of SME, I created three ibays. I then uploaded each websites information in each ibay. I then created the virtual domain and pointed it to the new ibay.
I retested this process this AM and got the same result. I always see the primary domains information.

Brian

When you created the ibay, what kind of access did you allow? (it defaults to no access) I am assuming you are trying to access this from inside the network, not from the public internet. Is that correct?

Group: Admin
FileSharing: Write=Group; Read=Everyone
Public Acceess via Web:Entire Internet (no password required)
Execution of dynamic content:enabled
These are the same settings as previous build on 5.6.

I too am having this problem.
I also have a 5.6 SME server that works fine but the 6.0 does not.
I have looked at the new RPMS and installed them but this still has not fixed my problem.
Has this been overlooked in 6?
Thanks

I have checked that the domains display the appropriate information as you have indicated and they are all set for globally. Any other suggestions?

I guess that I am at a loss at this point without being able to poke around in the server. From what you have told me, it looks like you have done everything correctly. I am running 10 websites with out any trouble, and was running on version 6.0, and upgraded to 6.0.01 without a hitch.
You might try to do a little more searching because it seems like I saw something about this a couple of weeks ago.

I am also running it successfully on 6.0.1.
One thing though, how do you allow email users with the same username, but on different domains?
At the moment, user1@maindomain.com gets all mail sent to user1@anyvirtualdomain.com.
is there a workaround?

I recall a bug in that BETA version of 6, regarding virtual domain. I guess you better use 6.0.1.
BETA 6 = BETA, obsolete and not supported by anybody.

Hi,
I had the same problem on 6b3, already last year. After installing all the available updates, that issue was fixed.
Was a known bug in 6b3 as they told me in the old e-smith.org-Forum.
But why you're using 6b3 while 6.0.1 is released?

Greetings again.
I guess it would help if I used the right version. I assumed that CURRENT had the latest release. My bad. I will download the 6.0.1 release, do the build, and report back. Give me a day or three. Thanks for all your input. This is by far the best support for an open distro that I have ever received.
Regards.. :hammer:

One way is to use the virtual domain email addon from dungog.net

:-D
After rebuilding with 6.01, everything works as intended.
Solution: Download the right version!!!
Mirrors don't have the latest version, just an FYI!
Thanks for all the help.
