Title: SMTP authentication to ISP mail server
Post by: ReetP on July 02, 2004, 02:03:54 PM
Hi all,

Have been hunting for an answer to this but can't seem to see it. Must be blind as I am sure I have read about it before.

We need to send mail via the ISP mail relay rather than direct from the server (bummer). However, they have recently changed their server to only accept authenticated/secure SMTP connections from their clients.

I have a 5.6 server (could be upgraded if required) and desperately need to be able to set this up.

Can anyone give me any pointers please ?

Please search for "SMTP auth" and you will find a very long discussion about this.
