Title: Mail server after dyndns update
Post by: tobre on July 02, 2004, 05:41:23 PM
Hi you all!

I have a small problem here. After my dyn IP has changed, cron automatically updates DNS. I have created account to yi.org. But after dyn DNS update I can't access to mail server via my mail client. I am using Calypso.
It says: Connecting to mail.myusername.yi.org but it fails.

Where can I update this "mail DNS"?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Tõnis

Yes, this is possibility, but now it is all right again. It just goes normally by itself. If next time it happens again, then I'll try, byt I don't think it would help. because after DNS update this DNS works. Only trouble is with mail.
I don't know what is wrong, do you?

Thanks.

Hello again!

I tried to replace this mail.myusername.yi.org to my external IP and it worked! Now I type http://myusername.yi.org to access my website in the local network and I can get it. It is very mysterious, because I turn off my Nokia modem and try to access again I can get into my website too. I think this DNS is somewhere in the cache. Outside my network it doesn't work.
Now I would like to update my dynDNS.
Code: [Select]
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/update-dns It says that successfully changed but I can't access via mail client to address mail.myusername.yi.org. What's wrong? I don't have no ideas any more.

Thanks.
