Title: How about a "SME Task list"?
Post by: brookes on July 06, 2004, 12:55:32 PM
I'd like to help out SME but have little or no money. I am inexperienced and would like to help but where to start. Perhaps a list of tasks (in a forum perhaps) that people could take ownership of and work on then post back here when complete. I know it would take some organisation by "someone" with a good understanding of the distro direction but it may distribute the workload.

There is a "Site Work List"
http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/Site%20Work%20List

There are not so many tasks listed yet, but everyone is free to add more, and work on which ones they please.

I am sure another page could be started concerning development tasks that need to be done. (there is already one for e-smith package maintenance)

One good way to help is monitor the forums, and patiently help newcomers. This often leads to you gaining further knowledge yourself. For questions that come up a lot consider adding them to the Documentation
