I made changed to access.conf to enable access to e-smith manager web pages from certain IP address by adding [allow from ] lines inside the tag. It works fine the first time i reboot it, and i was able to get access from external . however, for some reason a few days later, my changes to access.conf was gone. i may have changed the e-smith configuration, and rebooted it several times. my question is how could i prevent my changes to access.conf from being overwritten? TIA, -HH

Sorry to bother everyone with this obvious question. I got my answer from e-smith.org. After modifying the access.conf file in /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/httpd/conf directory, the system generate the correct access.conf file when changes are made thru the e-smith-manager web interface. Cheers, -HH
