I really like a feature that e-smith and SME Server prior to 6.0.1 has where the user was able to test the Internet conection. Anyone knows if there is an easy way to add this functionality again, or an rpm that reinstall the previous server console back.
Thanks in advance.

AFIK it was removed because it pinged a Mitel server. With Mitel no longer involved in the project this was inappropriate...
Could just switch to a console and ping any server on the net. www.bbc.co.uk for example?

Go to nigelt.dyndns.org, download the new console program and it's console-menu-items directory. Back up console & console-menu-items in /sbin/e-smith, then extract this arcive over the top. I have reinstated Test Ineternet and Review Configuration Optins - Let me know how you get on please, as I have had no feedback at all since I did this!
