Hi All
I've been puzzling over the qmail config on a 6.0.1 server for most of today. I've got the following things happening but I cannot figure out why:
- lots of bounce queue messages sitting in the queue (status says 5k+ messages queued)
- "warning: trouble injecting bounce message" appearing in the log (2mbyte in size and counting)
- cannot send mail from the command line to an external address but we can send mail from the exchange server that is inside the lan so its got to be a config error
- message receipting is being blocked inbound and outbound
- some domains (2 that we know of) appear to be being blackholed at the e-smith server (the thrid party sends email and it leaves their host but never arrives at our exchange server) but I have not (knowingly) configured any blacklist type response
I have had the spamassassin add-on installed but I turned it off from the control panel to see if that made a difference but it hasn't. I have the pagefault.org AV add-on installed.
The e-smith box is configured to relay the external public domain email directly to the internal exchange server and to accept from the exchange server for external routing. The mods that I have done to the qmail config for this is to configure a template snippet for the smtproutes file to redirect the public domain to the internal exchange server and created a blank virtualdomains file to remove the default entries. (which I have just realised may be an issue, so I'll go play with that)
But if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd appreciate the help.
cheers
Tony
