Title: Run console from ssh
Post by: egueguen on July 11, 2004, 05:48:44 PM
Hello,

On the server (SME 6) It is possible to switch between the console and the command line via Alt+F1 and Alt+F2. But I can't do it while using Remote SSH Client (Putty). Any idea ?

Thanks a lot.

hi,

or try consider to switch to screen (http://www.gnu.org/directory/screen.html)

Screen is a powerfull multi screen manager, with a lot of great functions embedded, but it can at least let you have 10 screens on each putty session.

I personnally use this rpm : screen-3.9.11-3.i386.rpm
It can be easily by find on the net.

(One more word : powerful, but not totally easy... A look at
Code: [Select]
man screen could be a good idea ;-) )

I got It.

Just type "su admin" to switch from one mode to another.

as root you can also run /sbin/e-smith/console
