I notice your web site now resolves to a VoIP status page. What company or brand do you use for your VoIP software? Have you found a system that is a bit more firewall friendly than a SIP phone.

Asterisk using the IAX2 protocol is very firewall friendly.

FWIW, Skype http://www.skype.com/ is also firewall-friendly & works great with the SME. I have a client in the UK that uses it all the time to talk to India & Kenya.

Skype is ok for a P2P connection.
- It's propriarty software, non GPL
- It's 1 on 1
- It's not a PBX
- It's not a business solution
other then that you can have great fun with skype, just not as a real business solution e.g. solid PBX

Agreed, however IMHO the market is still too immature (certainly in the UK) to invest in just yet. I'm waiting for all the competing standards to finally agree on *the* standard before I advise my client to jump in. In the interim, Skype works well enough and it allows conference calls, which is what they require.

If only you could have know how mature some stuff is ;-)
