Title: benefit of adding cpu to domain?

I was looking at the contrib howto on samba, and was wondering what the benefit of adding my win2k, and win88 computer to the esmith domain.  what does this do exactly?  Where may I see more info on the subject?

Hi,

What you gain is one centrallised area for changing passwords, ability to deny access to certain shares on your server ETC..

Makes overall network management real easy :-)

yeah...but doesnt esmith enable one to change passwords, manage shares,etc?  i fail to see the benefit of adding my cpu to the domain
