My SME 6.0 server and gateway does not allow me to send emails from outlook from the WAN. I get error "553 Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts".
I can send and receive emails inside the LAN. I have configured the email to allow public access from internet can someone help me?

Need a little more info.
What is your connection to the internet?
Do you have a static or dynamic IP?
Are you configured to use your ISP's mail or are you trying to be your own smtp server?

I have a DSL with static ip address and i use my server for SMTP.

Make sure that you set the mailservers adress to yourdomain.com and not mail.yourdomain.com for external use.

Look for SMTP Proxy

Thank you Per and Ray but both solutions do not work. I disable the SMTP proxy and configured mydomain.com instead mail.mydomain.com. I have done a fresh install of SME 6.0(takeoff) and still no luck. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Had a similar problem. Fixed it with this

Hi Dayhat,
I had a similar problem I think? when you say the WAN can I asume you do not mean the Internet?
-
Yes I mean the internet when i say WAN, and i was planning to install securemail from pagefault.org.

I installed securemail from pagefault.org and now i can send email from the internet through Outlook configured for SSL. I am getting though a security warning, when i open outlook, that the security certificate in my server could not be verified. It is not a problem but is there any way i can fix it so the server can have the right security certificate?

Did a search on cert, and came up with this

Hi DayHat,
OK, this is what I configured for a customer, as the certificates were a pain. I just set up a vpn connection to the sme box, and then left outlook with the standard setup, it works really well. and you don't get the certificate questions which is good.
