Title: Added local network - did not cleanly delete
Post by: hamishau on July 26, 2004, 04:22:15 PM
Hi,

Suspect this may be a problem in 6.01-01

Have the following setup:
PIII 500MHz, 96MB RAM, 20 GB IDE HDD
2 x NIC - 1 ADSL, 1 LAN
All cool, and works beautifully! :-)

Added in my work IP address so I can remotely administer my server when at work. All functioning correctly.

Wanted to see what happened when added in same IP address to Local Network config. Acccepted it OK, but then unable to get to home server from work IP address. When tried from other external IP addressses was OK - web site, email all good, just totally locked out from work IP address!

Deleted the work IP address entry from the Local Networks, but the problem remained - couldn't get to work Terminal Server from home. Eventually traced it back to /etc/sysconfig/static-routes. Commented out the entry there, and everything started working again.

Might want to assess this and see if the delete-network script needs to check the /etc/sysconfig/static-routes file.

Thanks for all the work you all do, it is vastly appreciated.
