Due to industry regulations the organisation I work for has to record all incoming and outgoing email.
Recording incoming email is easy I've just set all users to "deliver locally and forward" and set up a logging account to where all incoming emails are forwarded too.
Outgoing seems to be a little more tricky. I've tried to find something to force email clients (mainly outlook express) to automatically bcc to an outgoing logging account but have so far come up with nothing.
I'm now looking at our SME Server (v5.6) to see if qmail can be hacked in someway to forward outbound emails to a logging account. Anyone got any suggestions?
Regards
DSP.

Well I tried to implement the mailfront solution described but fell at the first stumbling block. I was unable to locate the Charlie Brady's 0.86 version.
I loaded 0.91 instead but I guess his patch isn't included in this version so mail logging just doesnt seem to work.

here is the correct one http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/e-smith/contrib/CharlieBrady/RPMS/i386/mailfront-0.86-1es2.i386.rpm
it was on that link brian provided but you have to dig around to find it
I have successfully used this on 6.0.1 and i even created a script to sort out the mail under the user mail log to the users name and the FROM AND TO so its clear which user it is whether they sent it or recived it

Thanks for the link. I've now downloaded and installed the 0.86 mailfront and the logging works a treat.
Thank for all your help.
