Title: File permissions changing on there own
Post by: ctoshack on July 29, 2004, 06:21:56 AM
Why on god's green earth would my file permissions change out of the blue every now and then.  I don't understand how this is happening.  Just out of the blue I'll notice that some of my folders and files permissions have been changed and I have to chmod them all back to the correct setting.  I have made no connection as to when this happens yet.  I.E. every hour or if I do something specific like shut the sever down and restart all I know is it's happening and I don't know why.

Do you have clamav installed? If so, do you have it setup to do a scheduled filesystem scan?  If so, change that to never.  It had been reported a while back by someone that if you have this set that the file permissions were being changed.  If not, what other contribs do you have installed?
