Title: Network Pintering
Post by: ansentry on July 29, 2004, 01:25:18 PM
I am running 6.0.1-01-custom

I have my SME set up as server only, all PC's login to domain.

I have a Kyocera 1800+ with NIC, IP address, subnet and name all set and work fine from all PC's in Office (all running XP Pro). What I would like to do is print via the SME. I added the printer in the Server-Manager using IP address and name (in lieu of "raw"), fine then went to PC clicked add a printer chose network found SME selected the printer, asked for drivers installed that. All appears well but will not print. Do I have to start any services in SME?

Also noticed that if you add a printer (in server-manager) and then delete it you cannot re use that name. How can I completely remove the "removed “ printers?

Any help would be appreciated.

 :-)

Try out Robert van den Akers CUPS contrib at
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/rvandenaker/beta/e-smith-cups/

It works fine for me with Kyocera printers, use a HP LaserJer driver from cups.
