Title: MySQL password
Post by: edb on July 29, 2004, 09:24:22 PM
Just upgraded to version 6.0.1 and now I cannot access databases. I use Navicat to access the databases and administer them but now the old password no longer works. I checked the .My.cnf file and it now has a long password that looks encripted.

Any idea on how I can change the MSQL root password?

Your posted answer didn't work :hammer:
I've read other posts as well and they are to do with Webmail and I'm not having a problem with that.

I have some databases that I simply cannot access since the new install which provided a new MySQL password. I need to know how to change it from the 76 char password provided at install time.

I also checked out and old posting by Dan Brown which I know worked with previous releases but not this time?
